Saratoga High School Drama and Saratoga Theatre Arts proudly present Radium Girls, a powerful and thought-provoking play based on the true story of female factory workers who fought for justice. In 1926, radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie an international celebrity, and luminous watches the latest rage - until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer and other women dial painters as they fight for their day in court, after suffering devastating health consequences from the radioactive paint. As they seek answers and accountability, they challenge the corporations and societal norms that seek to silence them. Directed by Ben Brotzman, this talented cast of student actors brings to life a story of courage, resilience, and the importance of standing up for what is right.
